January assessment: learner response
Your learner response is as follows:
Create a new blog post called 'January assessment learner response' and complete the following tasks:
1) Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).
WWW: A good effort, strong understanding of reception theory and you are able to analyse an unseen media product well. Very good understanding of both film CSPs with reference to how they market/produce both films.
EBI: revise media terminology through your exercise book/blog e.g. vertical integration, verbal codes and how films are marketed. For the film CSPs you will need to know them in further detail, think about key information e.g. names of producer, amounts they spent/ profit received.
2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Write down the mark you achieved for each question:

Because i didn't know the correct specific and detailed information such as the producer names and the money spent and profited. Also media terminology such as vertical integration

4) Look specifically at question 3 - did you successfully write about both the preferred and oppositional readings? Did your answers match any in the mark scheme?
In question 3 my preferred reading was a lot stronger than my oppositional reading as i didn't elaborate enough and give enough of detailed answer.
- The target audience might find the image intimidating.
- The target audience might find the image patronising because it uses the
word ‘We’ and suggests that the only way a woman can be successful in
the work place is by appropriating male characteristics / changing.
5) Now look at question 4. Write a definition of vertical integration to revise this key industry terminology.
vertical integration is when one conglomerate owns different companies in the same chain of production.
6) Finally, look at your 20-mark essay - question 6. Write a four-paragraph essay plan for this question, using the suggested answers in the mark scheme to help you. Use this format:
Paragraph 1: An introduction, following with whether i agree or disagree
Paragraph 2: CSP- I, Daniel Blake; funding, profit, producers, advertisement
Paragraph 3: CSP- Doctor Strange; funding, profit, producers, star power
Paragraph 4: Conclusion; marketing and distribution
